People-centric company also highly commended as ‘Employer of Choice’ at CIPD Middle East People Awards
Riyadh – 27 October 2020: Cementing its stellar reputation for promoting best practices in people management, Bahri, a global leader in logistics and transportation, bagged today the ‘GCC GOV HR Team of the Year’ award at the GCC GOV HR Awards 2020, the region’s most coveted human resources recognition. Bahri was also highly commended in the ‘Employer of Choice’ category at the CIPD Middle East People Awards.
Hisham Alkhaldi, Chief Support Officer, Bahri, accepted the GCC GOV HR award on behalf of the company at the ceremony held at InterContinental Dubai, in conjunction with the 8th Annual GOV HR Summit in the presence of prominent dignitaries and leaders from leading government and business organizations from across the GCC and top regional media.
In another major development, Bahri was highly commended in the ‘Employer of Choice’ category at the CIPD Middle East People Awards in recognition of its commitment to building a culture of learning and continuous improvement of local and international talent, along with consistent initiatives around gender diversity. Organized by the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development (CIPD), the Awards recognize individuals, teams, and organizations for their commitment to promoting positive work cultures and best practices.

Over the past year, the HR team at Bahri rolled out numerous initiatives to promote continuous growth and development and sustained happiness and welfare of its staff. To keep pace with the current changes, Bahri’s HR launched an e-Learning initiative in partnership with LinkedIn, to provide employees with the opportunity to access training courses remotely according to their needs. It also hosted many internal events and gatherings to create a happier and more positive work environment. Bahri offered world-class in-house and external training and professional development programs to help employees improve their skills and competencies and rewarded their performance and achievements. With diversity and inclusion being one of its top priorities, Bahri strengthened dedicated initiatives aimed at encouraging greater female labor participation. Similarly, the company heightened its efforts to develop local talent in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals. Several university students and graduates benefited from a variety of training programs.
With a total of 20 organizational and four individual level categories, the GCC GOV HR Awards 2020 aimed to highlight, honor, and celebrate path-breaking achievements of public sector organizations and individuals who have demonstrated exemplary leadership towards driving organizational and team effectiveness through human capital management, diversity, and strategic planning.
